An Excellent Spirit ~ A lion’s den

Ok, we had Easter Break here… Good Friday and Easter Monday.. So I’m back teaching about cultivating an excellent Spirit and the ability to stand firm in the faith even when you are threatened to be thrown into a lion’s den.

Daniel had an excellent spirit and others took notice about how he was different and “marked” by it. They were jealous and wanted to harm Daniel and remove him from the picture. The story goes, there was a decree that was made by the King (he was tricked into signing it) that any one caught praying to their own God, would be thrown into the Lions den. This threat did not deter Daniel praying to his God. Daniel had faith in God so he threw open his windows and continued to pray during the day and loudly at that. Daniel was brought before the King, the King had to fulfill the sentence (grieved in his heart about it) and had Daniel put into the lion’s den. The Angel of the Lord shut the mouths of the lions, kept Daniel safe at night. When the King arrived in the morning and found Daniel safe from harm, he made a new decree for those to serve the God of Daniel.

Daniel had an excellent spirit. It kept him through the night!

Happy Resurrection Day!!!! He has Risen Indeed!!!!

Today, I celebrated Easter with my Fiji family, Indian, Bolu (Father), Namala (Mother), Anthony, Jordan and Sunam.

I guess you could say it was a non-traditional Easter dinner for me. Curried Fish, Roti (tortilla kind of), cucumber/carrot salad. Delighted that I had a family to share it with. It is sweet fellowship and I’m honored to call them family.

I baked a banana cake for Namala and we celebrated her birthday that was yesterday. They all enjoyed it.

To those who back home who have enjoyed my banana cake… well, let’s just say the Fijian bananas add to the experience. They are so delightfully tasty that it is so hard to eat bananas back there anyway, but the cake… oh how splendid it was!!!

Rock Climbing… Pull yourself up.

The kids here are so precious. I’m enjoying it so much as the Holy Spirit moves and fills the kids with His goodness, love and solidifies the roots in their hearts. I’m so honored to be here and being blessed each and every day by things the Lord is doing. Humbled that HE is SO BIG!!!! Stretching me beyond where I’ve been before and having me reach further into Him to pull myself to another level. I guess it’s like rock climbing. You feel for the place that you put your hand (follow after peace) and then pull yourself up (step out and trust God). I’m seeking those places of peace for guidance then I’m pressing to pull myself up higher.

This is an adventure with the Holy Spirit as I reach up higher.

Used Shoe Sale?????

When we arrived at the church, we had to walk through Mud Puddles. And when I say Mud Puddles, I’m talking more dirt than water. All shoes had to come off at the door… Now, it looked like a used shoe sale and I was wondering, how in the world are these children ever going to find their shoes. I was laughing thinking this will take HOURS to sort out. They must have lots of practice in doing this as all the children were reunited with their shoes.
