I just don’t see how!! They were two fully loaded soda bottle cases! On the head for 2.5 miles… Can anyone explain how this is possible???
A place I did not know existed, but there I was sent
The ride was It was a bit over 2 hours in the boat to this amazing place. Our arrival was greeted with Children standing at the jetty. After our “introductions” to the children, we were led to the church which was a 2.5 mile hike up the mountain.
The land was so unique… I think that lake Victoria must be a “quieted” volcano as there were boulders all over the landscape. They looked as if they were just “dropped” from the sky onto the landscape. As we hiked along the mountain ridge, Lake Victoria was in the backdrop.
It was amazing, it looked as if one was on the Sea coast. Beautiful… I stopped and marveled… It was another place I never imagined I’d be… Yet here I was sent. Thank you Lord!!!!
Do you Swim???
That question was a flash back to 2005 and the trip to the island in Fiji, my initial reaction then was “What am I swimming from??” But as I quickly learned, it was due to the boat ride being in the middle of the Ocean for almost 3 hours that required some sort of floating-swimming ability as there were no life jackets in the boat…… But remember the Life Preserver is always with me…
So, here I was in a boat and the question was asked again…. Do you Swim???
It was discovered that there were not as many life jackets as people, and as the jackets were being handed out, P. Paul asked me if I swam. “Yes” was the answer… his next question was “would you mind if your jacket went to one of the people in the boat who does not swim?” My response, “that would be fine.” He explained to me that swimming was not something that most Ugandans know how to do. Even those who lived by the water usually do not know how to swim.
Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to learn how to swim. Little things, that prepare us for things to come.
10,000 for people Carrying????
I can just see it… and audit of the books and the charge is 10,000 for carrying people.
What in the world is that?????
On this trip, we made it out the island in the middle of Lake Victoria. The start of the trip was interesting as they “people carry” you out to the boat because there is no dock. So you are carried out to the boat……. Thank you for those who carried me, my shoes stayed dry!!!!
Bringing Love… The Children at Hope….
A place where so much darkness use to exist, and now we are privleged to bring love. One of the things that I treasure is holding the children and praying over them. Uganda is a nation where adoption is closed. Prayers over the Children for Health & Healing, Clean Water & Food, Protection and Spiritual Growth is important.
