What to do when you go from having something to nothing?

Each trip, my prayers are for each member of the group to get the deposits that the Lord wants to make into each of us.
At many lunches and dinners, I paid close attention to what Pastor M was saying. The following testimony he shared with us One particular lunch, he shared how he walked from the Chin state to India for 5 days to attend Bible school. Since he entered into India with out getting a visa, he was not allowed to work. Everything that he needed, Pastor M. prayed and God provided. He prayed and received housing, food and tution monies for Bible School. God provided…. He is Faithful…..

Pastor M. went back to his village, started and pastored a church for a number of years. God then called him to go to Yangoon/Rangoon to start another church and bible school. He borrowed about $1000 from his friends and family in the village (note I said borrowed). He hitched a ride form the NW part of Burma and on the way, a news bulletin came across the radio that inflation was so rapid that the government decided to de-value all of the small bills…… That’s right any notes that were the small denominations now had no value. Well all that was in Pastor M’s pocket were small bills. He had something at the beginning of the day when he started out, and now… nothing! This was before the Market Crashed in the US!

He proceeded to tell us how God is Faithful… provision was made and is still being made to purchase buildings for churches. He shared how he now has $2.0 million dollars for the next phase. Here is the really really funny part, that I wish I would have taken a picture of… Since the government controls all of the banks, they will take money as they please. So here in Pastor M’s office sat in nice neat bundles, the $2.0 million dollars. I had to look a few times at the stacks and stacks of money, but there it was… Waiting to be used for it’s intended purpose.

God is Faithful… He always makes a way. AMEN!

A quick glance at Burma / Myanmar more to come…

There is so much revealed after I arrive back from these trips. Processing takes time.
The mission into Burma (Myanmar) was an amazing trip. I just got back a bit over a week ago. What the Lord did will come. I have some video I am working to get up on the blog.
It will bless your heart. Burma was way different from what I had expected. I was fascinated by the fact that the entire city is covered in mold and mildew. I’ve never seen a city such as that.

One morning in prayer, the Lord took me to Deut 28. The bible talks about how it is a part of the curse when you forsake God, this was the first time I’d seen that part of the curse.

Yet, under all the mold and mildew there is a rare beauty in the people. It move me as I’ve never encountered people who could praise and worship the Lord such a way as this. In the middle of such oppression (often times harsh imprisonment), they openly worship and praise the Lord. They know their God and His faithfulness. Beautiful is the way I describe it. Absolutely precious…

Answered Prayers… all of them… :)

The last two requests are still in the works. So, let me thank you on behalf of the brothers and sisters in Myanmar. Your prayers are helping to soften the hearts of officials so that when the time comes, the seed will bear fruit. Please continue to lift up the nation of Myanmar.

13. For the Love of the Lord to touch the hardest hearts and change the course of the nation

14. For strongholds to be pulled down (spirit of fear, paranoia) It is a region where those spirits have “traveled” around for many years, time to bind them up!

Request 12. For the Joy of the Lord to Spill out onto others

12. For the Joy of the Lord to spill out to others
Ok, and just maybe I thought we’d be the carrier of that joy.. Well, I learned a thing or two. We changed our departing flight and tacked on an extra day. The reason? The church was celebration it’s 21st Birthday. Pastor M asked us if we would stay and praise and worship with them. We said, “Of Course!” Pastor M rented out the biggest ballroom in the nicest hotel in downtown Rangoon for the Celebration. I was told in USD it is $400-600 per night. So, renting out the ballroom must be….????

Anyway, there were over 1500+ people at the celebration! And THEIR JOY spilled all over on to others… the workers of the hotel were looking in doors, stopping by and very curious to why such happy singing and rejoicing. And not to mention our entire team. It was hard to believe that this is in a nation that is persecutiing Christians. But that does not let Pastor M stop from preaching the gospel. Here is the celebration in photos…

And because the staff of the hotel was watching, there was a salvation message told with by drama. It was so powerful… as they “whipped” and “beat” our Lord, it was so real, they portrayed the event in a very realistic manner. Made one cry.

Answered Prayers continued…..

7. For the complete operation of the Gifts of the Spirit to Operate on a higher level… notable miracles….
I shared in the earlier post how we were invited to a water baptisim of 94 buddhist converts.. How Jesus appeared. Well I don’t think it gets any more notible than that.. Thank you Lord for being Who you are and loving us the way you do..

8. For us to be completely yielded to the Holy Spirit…
This one was important for as we taught. Messages were flowing from the throne room of heaven and it was beautiful. Different Bodies, uniquely delivered messages all woven together by the Holy Spirit of God.

9. For each member to be adapted quickly..
This happened… even though the Lord had some of us up at odd hours praying… That was ok, as we made it through all teaching and stayed awake…

10. For Protection, Psalms 91…
We went out and returned with out harm or incident. Thank you Lord!

11. For Safe drinking water and food
This was the first time I had included this specific item in a prayer request. We pray over our food and water, so we have the expectation that we are covered…. OK, I know that with out your prayers, this would have been even worse. Two of us got food posioning.. This has never happened on any trip I have been on. Myself, I was down for just a bit, but for another team member, it was a HUGE battle. We are thankful that we have the victory in Christ Jesus.
