First off, Burkina Faso is like no other place I’ve been in the world. There is such an overwhelming lack due to the curse in the land which is the result of them forsaking God for idols, witchcraft and other religions. So many basic needs, including safe drinking water, are not available. The curse is so evident by the “dying” vegetation, as the curse is in the land and kills at the root… leaving the plants/trees/ vegetation to wither away. The Sahara desert is pushing southward and more of the land has been becoming barren. As we traveled from one village to another, I could not help but think, we have the key to stopping the curse (JESUS) and reversing the effects of what is happening in the land. It is what happened in Salago (the first village we went out to in 2002 & back in 2003 to see the land surrounding the village becoming green.) More people need to realize this and start reaching out to the lost and giving them the truth. It is the truth that has been revealed to me that compels me to go.
2 days or 2 weeks?? Time feels like it’s been extended
I returned from my third trip to Burkina Faso, W. Africa last week. Again, thank you so much for your prayers while the team was there. Much was accomplished in the time we were in Burkina Faso. The ministry schedule was so full that after just the first two days, I thought I’d been there a week. God’s grace was sufficient to carry us through. Processing all of the events has just started to take place.
I’ll do my best to paint the picture for you of this trip and again thank you for your prayers.
Over 1200 salvations and hundreds baptized in the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for moving among the people.
The Amazing Race 2007 Continues…
Where to next…. Well the race continues… I’m departing this afternoon with a team to return to Burkina Faso, West Africa.
Glory to God… We’ve got a wonderful team of evangelists and intercessors going on this trip. We are looking forward to how the Lord draws upon the gifts in each one of us.
Prayer requests are:
1. Please pray for the Nation… It is a Muslim nation that has a Christian President and leader of the Police/Army. May our previously established connections be further solidified and opportunities unfold for us to minister to them.
2. Pray for the missionaries who are currently serving in Burkina Faso, There is a Pilipino missionary team who run a school that uses the French bible to teach French. What a plan. May we be able to lift and encourage them to continue in an unlikely place for Asians?
3. For the Children… We will be ministering to approx, 1500 orphans (number is growing daily Thank you all who gave toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, clothes and other items for the Children. Your natural gifts will be greatly appreciated in a nation where there is overwhelming lack.
4. For Protection: Keeping us safe in all of our travels, from mosquitoes (No Malaria), and from any plots and plans of the enemy that will fail.
5. For the gifts and talents and abilities of those on the team to be pulled upon in new ways.
6. For the complete plan God has scripted for our mission to come to pass. There are a few opportunities to venture into the northern territories. Places we’ve not gone. So for the Spirit of the Lord to make plain and clear the path we are to walk.
Thank you all in advanced for the work you will be helping us accomplish. We treasure your prayers and are thankful that the Lord has appointed us to run this race together.
God Bless you and my prayers over you are for Him to strengthen you more and more with His Holy Spirit so you will know and fulfill the dreams He has put in your heart.
With Love from a thankful heart for Jesus. K
The English Corners…. Full of English Quesions!!!????
The English corners: These opportunities are created to minister to university students who are learning English. Their teacher is a beautiful Christian lady who was sent to this town to share the gospel. She had shared with me when she arrived, she felt so alone and had cried out to the Lord about not having “anyone else” to help. Just like Elijah cried out in the cave, I’m the only one….. Here was our team, to lift her up and encourage her. She teaches a class on English that gives a “practical” lesson with a biblical foundation. The Word goes forth each week by the teaching she shares. Her lesson was on No Pain, No Gain, and she had us give the lesson. No greater pain was endured for any greater gain!!! Glory to God. In China, Evolution is taught as fact. Many of the students struggle with their existence. Two questions that underscore the foundations of ones faith were asked: 1. what is the purpose of my life? 2. If there is a loving God, why is there some who are Sick and well? Poor and Rich? Free and Oppressed? Both of these questions are loaded, but important. The Lord touched the hearts of all with His response through the team and all who were in attendance prayed to receive Jesus as Lord!!! Praise God!!!!
Underground Church services…
We visited our Brothers and Sisters in Christ in the underground church… They send their greetings and ask you to continue to pray for them as they endure hardships and persecution. Each time I look into the eyes of the believers in a nation that can not worship our Lord freely, it does something. I can not imagine not being able to just get in my car and drive straight ~ no detours to loose tails, under the cover of darkness ~ to church. It is Holy Boldness that is upon these brothers and sisters, who share their faith BOLDLY even knowing that the result can and often times are detention, torture and prison. One of the Pastors has a youth bible school. Many of the students there were led by the Lord to come and study. They just showed up at the door of the school asking if this is where they could be trained. There are no recruitment and college enrollment forms; they are admitted by the Holy Spirit of God who leads them in the path they are to walk. What an honor to go and share and teach the word of God…
