Our Assignment – A Prayer Walk

We knew that we would be doing a bit of walking (hiking) and praying. I just never realized just how much ground we would cover. At the guest house we were staying, I picked up a map of the City. After I returned, I was matching photos up with areas. What I quickly discovered is that we walked almost the entire colored part of the map covered the entire city N to S and E to W. Selah!

Quite charming and photos below show some of the sites. I’ll see if I can update the map and note the sites. X by the number 10 in the red circle is where we stayed.

Thank you Lord for a great trip where I was a tourist on assignment….

The Harp is really big in Ireland and thus a bridge was made to look like a harp. Facinating. It swings to allow river traffic through.

Remember, Man’s delays (diversions) are God’s Relays

More converstion pieces… Who are they???

The statues that are on the churches were amazing. We came upon this church with the three statues on top.
We stood and looked up. PK and I were trying to decide exactly “Who are they?”.

Again, as we stood and had our converstion, a group of girls from China came up. They joined in our conversation and then had a conversion. All receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior… all becasue we stopped and had a conversation over a piece of art.
Selah…

Ok, so who are they???
I figured one had to be Jesus, the center top
Another had to be St. Peter… As Jesus stated Upon this Rock I will build my church – to the right
The third one? Mary – maybe… it is a Catholic church
I googled it but did not come up with an answer. Anyone????

DEO.OPTIMO.MAXIMO.SVB.INVOC.AVDOENI
What it means – Latin: To God, who is the best and the greatest (I concur)

Giants Causeway… A spectacular site to see.

Situated on the North coast of Ireland is the Giant’s Causeway. We ventured up to pray the area as we “toured” N. Ireland.

The odd thing about being this far north is that it never really gets dark (fully dark) and full daylight would last until 11:00pm… after our meal, we ventured down to see Giants Causeway. Not being schooled on what was down in the crater; I followed along and enjoyed the beauty of the decent down… Oh, and yes, I knew we needed to eventually come up!!!

The hike was a few miles down and as you looked around you could not help but feel that you were entering into volcanic craters. As we rounded the one corner to go further down, I marveled at what I saw. In front of me was an area of approximately 40,000 interlocking basalt columns that were the result of an ancient volcanic eruption.

Hexagonal in shape, the basalt columns formed stepping stones that disappear downwards into the sea. According to geologists the Giant’s Causeway was formed some 50-60 million years ago as a result of repeat outpourings of volcanic basalt.

What always amazes me is the “precision” that nature holds. We serve a precise God. He knows the number of hairs (or lack there of) on the heads of all. He know sthe number of our days. Truly, this was another place where I could see the math and precision, showing that all things fit together and give Him glory for creation.

We walked, sat & prayed, and and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Also noted, there were giant stones (as I called them meatballs), that were scattered around. Again, I was amazed. Some of them were the size of cars and you could tell that they were “spewed” out and sprinkled around from an upheaval. One must watch for them still falling as the sign notes….

Oh, How He loves Me…………….

Out of a the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks….
I could not help but give thanks to Father God… In so many ways, this trip was an answer to prayers over the years… It was a special trip as I was seeing how He is mindful of our every request…

As we waited for our turn to cross the rope bridge, I was prompted to look out at the water to the left..

Could it really be???? A heart in made out of sea grass???
“Oh, How I Love You” was what I heard.
“Oh, How I Love You” is what I replied… “not for what you do… But for Who You Are…”
Tell me that this does not look like it belongs in a Tropical Destination… say like Fiji

A Sunday Drive…. Is this really Ireland???

Our Journey up to the N. Coast of Ireland had us stopping at places and I realized that I really had no comprehension of what Ireland looked like. Beauty in it’s simplest form – by nature. I tried my best to capture the vastness of this island via my camera. I just could not do it. Reminds me of the Grand Canyon… you know it’s big but the vastness of it is not understood until one stands on the rim and looks over and down yonder.

Our dirve up was on narrow roads. On a few occasions, we had other vehicals but mainly sheep on the road to negoiate. I use to laugh at the movies and these little cars that were shown in the movies. I now see the purpose. It is not for a laugh, literally, the roads follow the sheep or cow “paths” and remain narrow. It is the narrowness of the roads that lends a charm and feeling of a “Sunday drive”… wait a minute… Today is Sunday, and we’re driving! Ummmmm…

One of our prayer stops on this spectacular day is a place called North Antrim Coastal Path.
There, one will find a tourist attraction the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The bridge is a rope suspension bridge near Ballintoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny Carrick Island.

The tourist attraction suggests folks:
Take the exhilarating rope bridge to Carrick-a-Rede island and enjoy a truly clifftop experience. This 30-metre deep and 20-metre wide chasm is traversed by a rope bridge traditionally erected by salmon fishermen. Visitors bold enough to cross to the rocky island are rewarded with fantastic views. Note: maximum of eight people on bridge at once. Suitable clothing and footwear recommended.

We did steps… 360 of them and the took the bridge to the tiny island. It was a place where, on a clear day, you could see across to the Hebrides Islands of Scotland. Well, it just so happened that it was a clear day. So behold, I could see Scotland. That may not seem like a big deal, but we were told that it had been raining there every day for months. Really, we had perfect weather. Sunny and blue! Thank you Lord.

We had prayer time there and I was just thanking the Lord for this trip. It was truly a gift to me.. And I was thanking Him for sending me to such a magnificent place.

Map of the walk to the island of Carrick….

Behold… the blueness of the ocean. For some reason I had thought these colors were reserved for my “tropical” destinations.
